At Whitgift Care we pride ourselves on our standard and quality of service. Here are some of the awards that we have received.
Quality Care Commission
Wilhelmina House and Whitgift House are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and both homes regularly undergo announced and unannounced inspections. Following recent inspections, both homes were found to be ‘good’. A copy of their most recent inspection reports can be obtained either from the homes or via CQC website, here: Whitgift House and Wilhelmina House.
Gold Standards Framework
Whitgift House has received the highest possible award of ‘Beacon Status’ for End of Life Care through an independent quality assurance process. This is the highest level of end of life care and is awarded by the Gold Standards Framework, an independent organisation acknowledged by the CQC.
The Gold Standards Framework is the UK’s most widely used end of life care training programme and Whitgift House has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to meeting the wishes of its residents in the final months of their lives through better planned, more coordinated and compassionate care.
More than 400 care homes in the UK have been accredited by the Gold Standards Framework, however only a quarter have received the top ‘Beacon Status’ award.
Soil Association Food For Life
Both Whitgift House and Wilhelmina House have received Gold awards for the quality of the food served to Whitgift Care residents. The award was given for our commitment to ethical and environmentally sustainable food sourcing, and providing freshly-prepared, healthy meals.
Pride Catering is responsible for providing healthy and nutritious meals to residents at the home and Head Chef, Chris Harcus, ensures that all produce is good quality and free from processed ingredients, trans-fats and undesirable additives. Additionally, fresh produce is sourced locally from vegetable farms in and around Ashford and free-range meat from a butcher in Lingfield.
