Desi

Desi

Training Coordinator

Desi joined Whitgift Care in 2012 and is our Training Coordinator. He works with staff across our homes to complete all of their mandatory and additional training in line with CQC regulatory requirements. Desi has a wealth of experience, having worked in care for over 20 years, which he draws on to support the development of staff across Whitgift Care. Desi is also a Dignity Champion and embeds the ‘Core Care Values’ into every training subject he delivers. Ameenah

Ameenah

Senior Nurse

Ameenah is our Senior Nurse at Whitgift House. After a career working for the NHS, she joined Whitgift Care in 1999 as a Registered General Nurse. Ameenah makes sure our residents are medically well cared for, but she also enjoys the social aspects of the job. Ameenah says she feels like she is part of the residents’ family and as such treats them as she would her own parents, with respect and dignity.
Trudi

Trudi

Assistant Manager

Trudi is our Assistant Manager at Wilhelmina House. She’s one of the longest serving members of staff at Wilhelmina – she joined in 1999 as a Care Assistant. Having worked her way up to Assistant Manager, Trudi is amongst other things responsible for medical administration throughout Wilhelmina. She makes sure that all our residents are able to see a G.P. regularly and that they have the correct medication. However, Trudi cites the most rewarding part of her job as being the everyday, personal side of care.

Senior Care Assistant

Milika is a Senior Care Assistant at Whitgift House. Our care assistants are vital in ensuring that our residents are looked after on a day to day basis. Milika joined Whitgift Care in 2009 and says the best part of her job is the personal wellbeing that caring for others brings. She aspires to take further training courses and gain the required qualifications to become a Registered General Nurse.
Alison

Alison

Activities Co-ordinator

Alison is our Activities Co-ordinator at Whitgift House. Her role is primarily to provide a programme for full nursing care residents, however her activities are so popular that independent living residents also take part. After a career as a teacher, Alison first became an activities coordinator in 2005 after her mother sadly developed dementia. She realised that in many cases, there was not much going on for residents of care homes beyond personal care and is therefore passionate about providing a full and varied programme of activities for residents.

Alison joined Whitgift House in Summer 2009 and describes it as one of the best places to be, where everyone is someone’s mum or dad, sister or brother, aunt or uncle or dear friend. Her greatest joy is seeing a new resident ‘blossom’ when they come to Whitgift House; when their confidence returns with a renewed interest in life.
