Eating well
Eating properly is so important for our health and wellbeing. Particularly as we get older, it’s essential our bodies get the nutrients we need, and that we continue to enjoy the social side of food too.
After all, there are not many things that can bring people together like a good meal. At Wilhelmina House, chefs prepare fresh seasonal dishes three times a day, with every dish cooked to order for each individual within our care.
There’s also plenty of opportunity to snack in between meals, with cakes and biscuits served with tea and coffee several times a day.

Keeping active
It’s vital we keep our minds and bodies active as we age. Not only to bring a little joy and variety to every day, but to keep us feeling young for as long as possible too. And the best way to do that is by getting up, getting out, and keeping our brains and bodies busy.
At Wilhelmina House, we have a dedicated activities team who ensures that every person we care for gets some one-on-one time doing something they want to do – whether that’s playing backgammon or doing the crossword together. We also run daily group activities, like movie days and group games.
And there are plenty of opportunities to get out and about, with regular day trips organised as well as visits to and from the schools and other care settings within the John Whitgift Foundation family.
