Covid-19 update

Whitgift Care continues to follow Public Health England (PHE) guidance and the advice given to us by our specialist Infection Prevention and Control Nurse. Our approach to easing the lockdown is to remain extremely cautious due to the vulnerability of our residents.

Looking after our residents’ safety and wellbeing is our number one priority whilst enabling them to live life to the full. We have put in place rigorous infection control procedures led by a consultant Nurse in infection prevention and control who has been advising us since the outset of the pandemic, have abundant supplies of PPE and continue to carry out regular testing of our home communities.

Keeping in touch with loved ones has never been so important. We are equipped with the latest technology to keep residents in touch with family and friends and during the colder months we have dedicated indoor visiting areas. In addition, activities calendars are full to the brim with a wide range of engaging activities to bring our communities together through fun and laughter and exploring with each resident how we can support them as individuals. To support this, we have appointed a leisure and wellbeing co-ordinator who is working alongside our activities co-ordinators to ensure the best experience for each individual resident.

Award winning care

We were awarded the accolade of ‘Top 20 Care Home in London’ in 2020. Our residents and relatives have consistently given us a five-star rating for the care we provide. Read the reviews at

Our intergenerational community

We are proud to be part of the John Whitgift Foundation and our partnership with our schools, Old Palace of John Whitgift, Trinity and Whitgift, has been strengthened further though this pandemic. The generations have been uniting by exchanging art and letters and enjoying live online streamed concerts and music productions.
