Live music, dancing and a generous spread got the Christmas festivities well underway at Whitgift House to welcome new residents on Wednesday 9 December.

The party was a great opportunity for everyone to mingle and get to know one another, especially visiting Almshouses residents and new Whitgift House residents living in the Home’s sheltered flats.

New residents, Barbara and John, said: ‘We’ve just moved in so the parties been a great chance to meet fellow residents and make friends.’

Live music had residents up on the dance floor swaying, clapping and jiving to their favourite songs; a particular crowd pleaser was ‘It’s a long way to Tipperary’.

Sheila, resident from the Whitgift Almshouses, said: “I’ve had a tremendous time dancing, it’s super to meet new people! I love a good night of dancing!”

The evening ended with a Christmas quiz and raffle where several residents won Christmas treats.
