Whitgift Care residents, their families, friends and staff have been embracing the festive season, attending fundraisers, carol services and several Christmas parties.
The Whitgift Almshouses held its annual Christmas Carol service on Thursday 15 December. Residents, Foundation Governors and staff gathered to celebrate Christmas by singing carols and reflecting upon 2016. As the service ended by the congregation reading Archbishop John Whitgift’s Prayer then enjoying mulled wine and snacks in the Almshouses common room.
The Almshouses welcomed residents from all three Whitgift Care homes on Saturday 17 December at its annual Christmas Coffee morning. Residents and guests participated in a tombola and bumper Christmas raffle.
At Wilhelmina House the annual Christmas Coffee Morning was a great success raising over £300 for their annual social fund. Residents and guests took part in the raffle where prizes were given out by Father Christmas. Live music performed by Nicky Chambers, from the “Another Way Cabaret” Duo including some Christmas favorites.
Wilhelmina House resident, Avril said: “I thought the Coffee Morning was very good, especially because my older son came up to visit.”
Whitgift House has yet again been full of festive fun, including their fantastic annual Christmas party with live music and a delicious buffet and of course a visit from the man in red himself, Father Christmas.
