Whitgift Care warmly welcomes two new Activities Coordinators to Whitgift House.
Angela and Ann joined the home over the summer and have already become part of the Whitgift Care family. Whitgift Care is delighted that due to the arrival of Angela and Ann, Whitgift House will now be able to hold activities seven days a week. They are both really excited to get to know everyone and to start new activities and projects.
“I feel like I’ve been part of the Whitgift House family for years.” Angela.
Get to know Angela and Ann:
Angela previously worked as a community support worker before working alongside Ann as activities coordinators at another Croydon care home. When Angela started working at Whitgift House she told Ann how wonderful the home is and that she should apply straight away.
“I’m still finding my feet, everyone has been so friendly and welcoming. I can’t wait to get to know everyone.” Ann.
Both Angela and Ann love arranging events and have a person-centered approach to the activities they plan. They have recently introduced a wishing tree where residents can pick one wish and they will try their very best to make that wish come true.
They are excited to organise day trips and adventures out and about in the mini-buses. Ann really enjoys music and dancing so plans to arrange exercise classes accompanied by music and inviting Foundation students to perform.
Since they have joined, Whitgift House has welcomed chickens and guinea pigs which has been a great joy for Angela as she owns her own chickens.
“I love animals, it’s so wonderful seeing the residents enjoy the chickens and guinea pigs.” Angela.
The team are keen to start planning seasonal events and both Angela and Ann are looking forward to Christmas. They welcome all ideas and suggestions for forthcoming activities. We wish them all the best as they settle into Whitgift House.
