Wilhelmina House had a fantastic weekend full of St Patrick’s Day celebrations on 15th – 17th March.
The weekend kicked started with live music performed by professional singer Nathan Rhode on Friday 15th March. The medley of songs included Irish classics Danny Boy and Galway Girl, which brought smiles and cheer to residents and 1596 Club members.
The van Hoorne suite was decorated with bright green bunting and Irish flags, everyone had the opportunity to dress up in their favourite green outfit.
Throughout the weekend residents listened to Irish songs and took part in a themed game arranged by the homes Activity Organiser, a few residents watched Riverdance on DVD.
On St Patrick’s Day everyone gathered for a special lunch and enjoyed a delicious Irish coffee after their meal. Two Wilhelmina House residents, Maureen and Lily particularly enjoyed this series of events as they are both Irish.
Lily commented:“We’ve had a wonderful weekend celebrating St Patrick, I particularly enjoyed the live performance on Friday afternoon.”
