The Whitgift Almshouses annual Spring Coffee Morning raised a fantastic £200 for The Chartwell Cancer Trust Lily Pad Appeal, on Saturday March 30th 2019.
The donation raised will go towards the refurbishment of the new oncology department in the new paediatric unit at Croydon University Hospital.
Almshouses residents welcomed guests from Croydon Minster, Wilhelmina House and Whitgift House with coffee and biscuits. Residents sold delicious homemade chutney, jam, marmalade and their very own occasion cards.
Whitgift Almshouses resident, said:“We are so pleased that we have been able to use our time and skills to raise money for the children’s cancer unit. We had a really good turn out and sold lots of our handmade goods.”
