In 2019 I moved over to Whitgift House where I became a receptionist. I enjoy my job and love to meet new people. I have good relationships with our residents’ friends and family. I help in any way I can to make people feel welcomed.

I’ve worked for John Whitgift Foundation since 1995, my role is to look after all the gardens in Whitgift care. Every day is different I can be mowing the grass, weeding, or planting up flower beds or in the autumn clearing up leaves!
I love the variety and changing seasons each one brings a new challenge! It’s also nice to see the residents enjoying the garden – many of them were keen gardeners themselves and appreciate what goes into a garden.

I started working for the Whitgift Foundation in 2002 as a live-in warden when on duty; a job that gave me great satisfaction, looking after the resident’s welfare, organising outings, garden Parties, and attending functions at our other homes.
The residents have a wealth of life experience to pass on to us, it brings great pleasure listening to their stories.
